ONE by ONE Convention provides platform for student leaders

Hundreds are expected at the Jacksonville Public Education Fund’s ONE by ONE Convention on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Omni Hotel. This year’s theme is “Students at the Center of the Conversation,” and the event will focus on the importance of listening to students in the work to improve public education. Attendance is free and open to the public but advance registration is required at jaxpef.org/convention.

Duval County Public School teacher awarded $1,000 Community First Innovation Prize

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 12, 2016 —The Community First Cares Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Community First Credit Union, announces the recipient of the Community First Innovation Prize honoring creativity and innovation in classroom instruction in Duval County. Susan Burns will be honored with the Innovation Prize at the Jacksonville Public Education Fund’s 26th Annual EDDY Awards in February.
