Volunteer with the Jacksonville Public Education Fund at the Jacksonville Children's Commission Summer Learning Day!

National Summer Learning Day is an annual national advocacy day led by the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) to elevate the importance of keeping kids learning, safe and healthy every summer.
Research shows that summers without quality learning opportunities put our nation’s youth at risk for falling behind – year after year – in core subjects like math and reading.
This year, the Jacksonville Public Education Fund (JPEF) will be volunteering with the Jacksonville Children's Commission (JCC) in the efforts to make this year's Summer Learning Day a huge success.
Friday, June 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. JPEF would like to ask volunteers to take shifts of 2-3 hours to volunteer to interact with students from local summer camps by doing the following activities:

Reading circles
-
Duck Pond math game
-
Wheel of fact and fiction
-
Assist with the Photo Booth
-
Assist JCC staff with other activities (i.e. 3 legged race, sack race, board games, hula hoop contest, safety zones checks, registration and etc.)

All volunteers will receive a new JPEF T-shirt to wear at the event. Because of special regulations for this opportunity volunteers may be required to have background check (Free with JCC) and all volunteers must be over the age of 18.
