Review the plan that YOU helped create starting next week

Duval County Public Schools has released its draft Strategic Plan - and your voice has been heard!

Over the last 18 months, citizens all over Duval County have been speaking out about what our schools need through the ONE by ONE campaign. That all culminated in January, when delegates from the ONE by ONE conversations joined together to vote on the top priorities expressed in the conversations, resulting in a Community Agreement, which to date has been ratified by more than 1,800 people online and via paper ratification card ( add your name here if you haven't already).

Today, though, comes the most exciting news of all: The Duval County School Board has released the draft of its Strategic Plan, and the priorities in the Community Agreement are directly reflected! This plan will guide our public schools into the future, and represents an unprecedented level of district-citizen alignment. You can learn more about the district's Strategic Plan and take a survey about it online at duvalschools.org.

Check out the below graphic, which demonstrates the similarities between the Strategic Plan and the Community Agreement.

So now what?

First, plan to attend one of these upcoming community meetings, where the public is invited to give final review to the Strategic Plan and make any last suggestions and comments.

6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, Fletcher High School Cafeteria

6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, Lee High School Cafeteria

6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, Jackson High School Cafeteria

Make sure you've ratified the Community Agreement. Showing your support for the priorities is crucial to ensuring that the plan is widely known and enacted.

Save the date of Saturday, May 4, for an event that will finally move ONE by ONE from conversation to action, giving you a role in the transformation of our school system. More details are coming soon!
