ONE by ONE: Students at the center of decision-making conversations

4/12/2017

Do you believe in the power of listening to students? Are you eager to unleash their potential? Craving a day of collaboration and action where you'll put your ideas to work?

We will be hosting our annual ONE by ONE Convention: Students at the Center of the ConversationSaturday, May 6. This year, Convention will focus on the culmination of the work we have been doing around Student Voice and the importance of placing students at the center of school improvement strategies and policy discussions. Giving students a strong start in life gives our city a strong start toward becoming all that it can be.

We will be featuring students in the first panel discussion of the day to showcase the amazing work they are doing in their schools! These amazing students have worked hard to engage their communities and increase opportunities for their peers to access real-life work experience. This is a unique opportunity for the adults in schools to listen to students about what works to drive student success and school culture improvement.

Teachers, parents, school administrators and community members are encouraged to attend!

Raise your voice alongside community leaders, advocates, educators, parents and students to encourage excellence within our public schools and to speak as one voice about the importance of public education to our city. Your attendance is important in making this an inspirational day of conversation and action!

Public schools belong to the community — when students thrive, so does Jacksonville. Your voice matters so join us to participate and network with other like-minded community leaders. If you are a teacher, please bring one or two teachers with you.

This event is free and open to the public, however registration is required. Breakfast samples will be provided by local culinary students. Lunch will also be provided, however, space is limited.

Don't miss your chance to attend, and register today!

Furthermore, if you are interested in volunteering, we absolutely need your help! Below is the information for volunteer opportunities. If you’d like to join the team, contact Kristellys Estanga at Kris@jaxpef.org.
