2014 FCAT 2.0 scores released for writing, third grade reading and math
5/23/2014
The Florida Department of Education has released the first round of 2014 FCAT 2.0 results this morning. This round of results includes third grade math and reading scores, and writing scores for fourth, eighth, and tenth graders.
Why are FCAT 2.0 scores released at different times?
These scores are released earlier than the rest since the FCAT writing test is always the first to be administered, in February of the academic year. Third grade scores are also released early since this third grade is a critical year when the assessment scores impact grade retention for students. In order to plan for summer remediation programs and promotion, the third grade reading and math scores are released before the fourth through tenth grade reading, math, and science scores are announced.
